Management Team

Jonathan D. Albert – Chairman and CEO. Jonathan is responsible for acquisitions and the re-positioning of assets, financial structuring, environmental remediation activities, and the strategic positioning of the company. Prior to forming Cornerstone in the early 1990s, Jonathan was a managing director and 1 of 8 partners at Dean Witter Realty, Inc. based in Manhattan, a real estate investment company with over $3 billion of owned real estate. Jonathan joined Dean Witter in 1983 after graduating from Amherst College, magna cum laude with a BA in international relations. Jonathan also attended Wharton Business School and received his MBA in 1987.  Jonathan is actively involved in the local community, currently serving as an active board member of the Waterbury PAL, the Waterbury YMCA, the Taft School, Amherst College Inn Company, the Community Leadership Cabinet for the United Way, B’nai Israel Endowment Committee, Koster Kuenen, Inc., and the Torrco Advisory Board of Directors.

Jeffrey D. McLellan – President. Jeff is responsible for the daily operations of the company, including acquisitions, leasing, property management, and construction projects. Prior to joining Cornerstone, Jeff was the managing director of an affiliate, Fusion Group, Ltd., and oversaw the development of a large chain of restaurants, a distribution company, and all related real estate activities, currently consisting of over 2,800 employees. Prior to moving to Budapest, Jeff was a senior associate at a law firm in Boston. Jeff specialized in commercial and real estate law. Jeff received his BA from Amherst College in 1983 with a major in biology. Jeff graduated in 1987 with honors from Boston College Law School.

Timo Makkonen – Chief Financial Officer. Timo is responsible for all accounting, financial, and tax matters as well as the risk management of the company. Prior to joining an affiliate of the company, Fusion Group, Ltd in 1992, Timo was the manager of hotel accounting at Hyatt Hotel Corporation headquartered in Chicago where he was responsible for the accounting activities at all hotels within the Hyatt Hotel Corporation system. Timo received his BA from the University of North Carolina in 1984 with a major in finance and his MBA from the University of North Carolina in 1986.

Jake Albert – Vice President. Jake is responsible for acquisitions, leasing, risk management, property management, and financial structuring. Prior to joining Cornerstone, Jake worked as a senior associate at Amerimar Enterprises, a real estate investment company in Manhattan, and Netrality Properties, a private REIT with over $1 billion of owned real estate. Jake received his BA from Amherst College in 2015 with a major in history. Jake is currently a member of the CT Brownfield Working Group, the United Way of Greater Waterbury, and a board member of the ISRI New England Chapter.
